Infective endocarditis
Infective endocarditis preoccupies a substantial place in infectious emergencies, and treatment delays are likely to cause increased mortality and morbidity. This paper attempts to explore and discuss the current knowledge on the diagnosis, treatment, and prophylaxis of infective endocarditis in light of the relevant literature. Infective endocarditis is an infectious condition that still keeps its significance and requires a multidisciplinary approach from infectious diseases, clinical microbiology, cardiology, and cardiovascular surgery.
